School fees alone do not provide the capital needed to shape the future of Abbotsleigh. Every Abbotsleigh girl, past and present, has benefited from the generosity of Abbotsleigh parents, Old Girls and staff. Our parents and Old Girls continue this legacy of generosity by making gifts that benefit our girls and last generations.
Every dollar donated makes a difference. Gifts you make today enable the Abbotsleigh Foundation to support means-tested scholarships, as well as invest in state-of-the-art facilities and support programs that would otherwise not be available for our girls.
Ways to get involved
Annual appeal
This once a year appeal allows every member of the School community to join with others to make a collective impact on girls’ education. Philanthropy has played a critical role in Abbotsleigh’s evolution and growth and our donors have been selfless over the School’s history.
Our goal for 2024 is to raise $1,000,000 – click here to view our Annual Appeal brochure and help us ‘create the future’. Please help us achieve full participation in giving each year so that, no matter the size of gift, we can together make a real difference. You can donate now via our online donation page.
Monthly giving
Every family is encouraged to commit to our voluntary donation program for the duration of their daughter’s enrolment. Many families donate a regular amount, ten times per year, via direct debit and receive a tax receipt at the end of the financial year.
The collective impact of every of regular giving is a reliable and sustaining annual income that provides opportunities for our girls now and for years to come.

Prize endowments
Each year many generous members of our school community encourage excellence by endowing a Speech Day prize.
Donors endow prizes for many reasons: celebrating achievement and inspiring students; acknowledging their daughter’s or grandaughter’s experiences at Abbotsleigh; being passionate about an area of study; or simply taking the opportunity to give back to Abbotsleigh.
A gift of $1,000 to the Abbotsleigh Foundation endows a prize for five years. A gift of $5,000 to the Foundation will endow a prize in perpetuity with the option to name the prize.
If you would like to endow a prize, please contact our Fundraising Manager.
Commemorative pavers
In 2005, to celebrate Abbotsleigh’s long years of educating Australian women, the school launched a program of commemorative pavers to permanently record the links that Abbotsleigh Old Girls, past parents and former staff have with the School.
Find out more about our commemorative pavers.
We invite you to commemorate your connection with Abbotsleigh’s distinguished heritage by ordering a paver engraved with you, your daughter/s or other family members name and the years that you or they attended the School. A tax-deductible gift of $500 or more to the Foundation will support the School’s ongoing development and record your personal link with Abbotsleigh.
If you would like to have a paver created and laid, please contact our Fundraising Manager. To make a donation for a paver please click here.
Gift matching
Matching gifts are a simple and easy way to double your donation.
Many Australian companies offer a matching gifts program, where any donation made to an Australian based registered charity is matched by the employer.
The Abbotsleigh Foundation is an eligible registered charity (ABN 46001333124) and we encourage donors to ask their employer about registering their gifts via this program.
Giving from the USA
If you are a United States taxpayer, the most tax effective way for you to make a gift to Abbotsleigh is via the AUSUSA Foundation.
Abbotsleigh is an affiliate of the Australian Independent Schools USA Foundation, which was established to advance philanthropy in the United States from alumni and friends of Australian independent schools and universities.
You will be able to choose Abbotsleigh as the school to which you are donating and choose the Scholarship, Building or Library fund for your tax-deductible gift. Canadians may also be able to offset US based income.
You can visit the AUSUSA Foundation website to make your gift. For more information about making gifts from the USA, please contact the Director of Development.
