A retrospective exhibition of works by printmaker Gary Shinfield.

Opening with woodcut artist Ruth Burgess on Saturday the 24 September  2 to 4 pm.

Artist talk on Saturday 1 October  2 to 3pm.

After years spent investigating various forms of printmaking, Shinfield’s works reveal the subtle relationship between inner and outer experience as new places in the environment are encountered. Each journey has been represented by one or a group of prints in this exhibition. The prints, mainly woodcuts and etchings, trace significant journeys made over several decades.

Gary Shinfield is an artist based near Sydney whose practice focuses mainly on works on paper. He uses printmaking and painting techniques to create images based on journeys undertaken and places visited. Shinfield is interested in relief printmaking and experimenting with the block and alternate printing methods.
