Contemplating Grace is an exhibition presented by Sydney Printmakers. The 32 participating artists responded to the art and life of Grace Cossington Smith. These personal reflections by each printmaker revealed varied approaches that permitted broad readings of Grace Cossington Smith, revealing new meanings in familiar works.
Sydney Printmakers is the longest running independent printmaking organisation in Australia and the group has advocated for printmaking for 60 years. Known for its excellence and an increasingly innovative approach to the print medium, many members embrace digital technologies and three dimensional works together with traditional techniques. Sydney Printmakers have continually engaged with the national and international print communities through exhibitions collaborations and exchanges and a recent exhibition To The Edges: 60 Years of Sydney Printmakers was celebrated in 2021 at Manly Art Gallery and Museum.
