Tennis and Tildesley Shield

Tennis

Tennis is one of the most popular sports enjoyed by girls at Abbotsleigh. Our tennis courts are excellent, with surfaces the same as those used at the Australian Open, and our tennis programs cater for students at all levels, from those who just want to have fun to those who want to develop their skills to the highest level.

Under the guidance of Head Coach Brendon Rose, AbbSchool offers professional tennis coaching in a fun-filled atmosphere using a variety of modern teaching methods.

Competition tennis

Girls have the option of signing up for competition tennis in Term 4 and 1. Teams play in the IGSA competition on Saturday mornings. We also offer a Tildesley development squad training on a Monday afternoon which runs year round. The inter-school Tildesley Tennis Shield is an annual and much-anticipated event in Term 1. Enthusiastic Abbotsleigh teams have competed for the shield since 1928, with much success over the years.
